Memorial Day Weekend

With Sampath at Bushkill Falls in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania

With Roy, an Amish Buggy Guide in Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Sampath visited us for the Memorial Day Weekend from Edison, New Jersery. Went to the Amish Conty - Lancaster which is an hour drive from our home in Wilmington, Delware. We took a Buggy ride with Roy, the Old Order Amish. Then went to a Farm and Amish house, where we learnt all about the Amish way of life. Lancaster has one of the best outlet malls in the area. Ended the day with a lot of shopping. Oh, had a nice Thai lunch-dinner before the shopping spree. Check out www.800padutch.com to learn more about the Amish.

The next day, we started a little bit early to the Pocono Mountains(www.800poconos.com). Specifically went to the Bushkill falls - supposedly the "Niagara of Pennsylvania". It had a main falls and six other mini falls. We took the Red trail and successfully crossed 1267 steps. It was a pretty good workout. On the way back, went to our favourite Malaysian restaurant in Philly downtown and had Roti Telur, Roti Canai, Nasi Lamak and Singapore Noodles.

Dallas-Delaware Trip

Siva and Malar with the Truck in Arkansas

The weekend of April 28th, we rented and loaded a Penske truck(with a lot of help from Jaga and Aarathi), put our car in a trailer behind the truck and drove all the way from Dallas, Texas to Wilmington, Delaware. It was a pretty good ride of 1500 miles. Took almost two days to cover the distance. We crossed Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, West Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC and Delaware. Other than a couple of incidents with not able to back up the truck from a parking lot (creating problem for other cars) and a tire blow up, it was a pretty good trip. With this trip, Malar could now add "Truck Driver" to her resume.
